Published May 12, 2007SANTA FE – The pressure of closing out a top-ranked team to prevent stretching the series to a third game rested squarely on the shoulders of the Blackcats’ sophomore pitcher Travis Tomek – and the young hurler came through for Bay City in a big way Friday.Tomek pitched a complete seven innings for a two-hitter with a colossal 12 strikeouts against the No. 7 team in 4A polls, leading the Blackcats to an 8-0 win against Little Cypress-Mauriceville in area playoffs.
